Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Republicans should be following the Republican Creed. Is that not a novel concept? Let me quote one of the six points of the creed, “that fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government.” This is a key tenant of the Republican Creed that Eric Cantor has run rough shod over. He has voted to raise the debt ceiling ten times. He recently voted for a nearly one trillion dollar Farm Bill filled with big business handouts and wasteful spending. He could not even accomplish the decoupling of Food Stamps and the general Farm Bill reauthorization. Congressman Cantor voted for the Ryan-Murray budget that did away with the sequester cuts, which were the only spending cuts Republicans achieved in the last five years, while simultaneously cutting pensions for our military veterans. We need a Congressman that is willing to lead and make tough decisions. This is why I will be voting for Dave Brat in the June 10th primary.
